About Me

I am a Licensed Clinical Psychologist specializing in Anxiety, Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD) and Performance Psychology. I have extensive experience with disorders such as Generalized Anxiety Disorder (GAD), Depression Social Anxiety Disorder (SAD), Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), insomnia and major life transitions. I work with adults, adolescents and older adults.

My Training  I received my Doctorate of Clinical Psychology (Psy.D.) from Ferkauf Graduate School of Psychology, Yeshiva University. During my doctoral training I completed externships at the Center for Cognitive Behavioral Psychotherapy where I focused on the treatment of OCD and related disorders, the VA hospital in Northport, and working in neuropsychological assessment at Stony Brook University. I completed my Internship at the Center for Anxiety, a private practice based out of New York City that specializes in the treatment of anxiety disorders. Prior to enrolling in my doctoral program, I worked in the research lab of renowned resiliency specialist Dr. George Bonanno. My research in his lab became the basis of my thesis, which looked into how stress can negatively affect decision-making. Currently I am practicing as a licensed Clinical Psychologist at the Center of Cognitive Behavioral Psychotherapy, under the mentorship and supervision of internationally recognized OCD specialist, Dr. Steven Phillipson.

My Therapeutic Approach relies mostly on Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy.

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is the modality I primarily work in. This approach focuses on identifying the thoughts and behaviors that are contributing to distress and developing more adaptive alternatives. In my work I like to utilize behaviors especially, because we learn fastest by doing and this is often an effective way to change stubborn beliefs that have held us back. Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) focuses on identifying values to guide treatment and defusing negative thoughts and emotions by using mindfulness and acceptance.

Performance Psychology focuses on using these techniques not only to treat dysfunction and return a patient to baseline, but to increase overall functioning, handle high stress-stress environments effectively, and improve performance. These techniques are frequently used by professional athletes, surgeons, professional dancers and business executives. They can also help anyone who experiences anxiety and wants to perform their best.

I utilize these and other evidence-based treatments in my practice; including Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Prolonged Exposure for PTSD (PE), Emotion Focused Therapy (EFT), and CBT-Insomnia.

My work often starts with concrete goals. My patients usually have something specific in mind, such as an issue that is holding them back at work or stress that is getting between them and loved ones. Together we work on ways to help a person change what is in their control, their own thoughts and behaviors, to get them towards the life they want to be living. â€‹â€‹

I currently see patients virtually and in person in New York City.
